Drag Race UK is bringing back the eliminated queens for next week’s grand finale and we need to know what. Is. Happening?!

It was always going to be a risk bringing RuPaul’s Drag Race to the UK. Before the show debuted, many fans were worried that our distinctive humour and style of drag wouldn’t translate to the drama-heavy American format.

Fortunately, Drag Race UK has been a certified hit, staying true to British drag with a series that’s felt warmer, friendlier and – of course, cruder – then its American counterpart, without any of the riggery and buffoonery that has plagued later seasons – until now, that is.

Ahead of next week’s grand finale, the BBC gave viewers a sneak peak at what could be game-changing twist, as the final three come face-to-face with the eliminated queens.

Naturally, the BBC is keeping details of next week’s episode under its wig, but fans are fearing a repeat of the All Stars 3 jury twist.

All Stars 3 twist robbed Shangela.

For those who aren’t familiar, season three of Drag Race All Stars ended with a highly controversial change to the format, with the eliminated queens returning to decide which of the top four would progress to the final lip sync.

After hearing the queens plead their case, the jury announced that Trixie Mattel and Kennedy Davenport would be moving forward, eliminating BeBe Zahara Benet and Shangela.

The decision to eliminate Shangela, who had been the clear frontrunner until that point, sparked fury among fans.

RuPaul acknowledged that the jury twist had backfired in November 2018, telling EW: “We always try to do something fresh and interesting, and sometimes it turns out in a way that you don’t really expect.

“I love Trixie. She’s a real superstar, but I really didn’t count on the other girls who came back being so vindictive.”

The format was dropped for All Stars 4, but will it make a surprise return for Drag Race UK? We can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK concludes on Thursday on BBC iPlayer.
