The Ranch Final Season Gets Netflix Premiere Date

Television

It’s almost time to say one last goodbye to The Ranch.

Netflix has announced the final season — dubbed Part 8 — will launch Friday, January 24.

Ten episodes remain, and the show will conclude with an ending that was planned, meaning there won’t be any cliffhangers — unless the producers opt to end the show with unanswered questions.

By the time the series concludes, 80 episodes will have aired. This makes The Ranch Netflix’s longest-running multi-camera comedy, eclipsing Fuller House, which will close out with 75 episodes.

“The Ranch is coming to an end, but not just yet,” Kutcher announced on Twitter earlier this year.

“We’re excited to bring you the final 20 episodes — 10 later this year… and then 10 more in 2020. Stay tuned!!”

The Ranch is an R-rated multi-camera comedy that focuses on Colt Bennett (Kutcher), a former semi-pro footballer who returns to his family’s ranch with the aim of reconnecting with his family.

Debra Winger, Elisha Cuthbert, and Sam Elliott also star on the series.

The show also starred Danny Masterson as Kutcher’s on-screen brother, Rooster, but Masterson was ultimately fired by Netflix following multiple allegations of sexual assault.

His exit was addressed during the second half of the show’s third season, titled Part 6. Rooster was killed off in a motorcycle accident.

Dax Shepard was drafted in as a replacement, but the role was not recast. Instead, Shepard took on the role of Luke Matthews, Colt’s estranged cousin.

Recasting is a tricky process, especially when fans have become so accustomed to a role being played by a specific actor. They rarely work, so we’re thankful the producers went with the safer option.

Netflix has been aggressively cutting existing shows, while also launching a lot of new ones.

Recently, it has been announced that Anne With An E, Dear White People, 13 Reasons Why, Lucifer and Glow would be ending with their upcoming seasons, meaning those ones will be getting conclusions.

The same cannot be said for The OA, Tuca & Bertie, Santa Clarita Diet, and Chambers, which were all cut short.
