Full List of 2020 Oscar Nominations Revealed | Screen Rant

Movies

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced their full list of 2020 Oscar nominations. This year’s awards season will be shorter than usual, with the 92nd Academy Awards scheduled to take place at the beginning of February instead of later in the month or even March (which is traditionally the case). As a result, organizations have been handing out honors left and right of late, in the lead-up to the main event. Just this weekend, Avengers: Endgame took home a Critics Choice Award for the Best Action Movie of 2019, beating out stronger Oscar contenders like Ford v. Ferrari.

At this stage, clear front-runners have emerged in several of the major Oscar categories. 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are the favorites to win Best Picture, with Sam Mendes leading the charge for Best Director following his Golden Globes win for 1917. Joaquin Phoenix and Renée Zellweger also won Globes for their performances in Joker and Judy, making them the contenders to beat come Oscar night. As always, however, there could be an upset in one or more of these areas when the winners are revealed.
