More fan art of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian continues to flood the internet. Dawson has been in over a hundred titles during her acting career, but lately, the actress has been known for voicing Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Universe, as well as playing Claire Temple on Netflix’s Marvel superhero shows. Now, Dawson is about to take on what will possibly be the biggest role of her career: Ahsoka Tano.
Ahsoka Tano made her Star Wars debut in the 2008 animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars, before becoming a main character on the TV show of the same name. Ahsoka quickly became a fan-favorite character, which has made people want to see her in a live-action movie. There were rumors that Ahsoka might show up in the Cassian Andor spin-off series, and while that’s still a possibility, she will make her live-action debut in The Mandalorian season 2. While it’s not 100% confirmed, several reports came out a few days ago that Dawson was cast as Ahsoka, which has set the internet ablaze with tons of fan art.
This new fan artwork comes from isatonic, who imagines what Dawson could look like as Ahsoka. The first piece of her wielding two lightsabers makes her face look a bit more human, while the second makes her look a bit more like the cartoon. Both pieces of isatonic‘s work can be seen below.
At this point, not a whole lot is known about The Mandalorian season 2 besides that it will hit Disney+ this October. Cara Dune actress Gina Carano shared a set photo of The Mandalorian season 2 after filming wrapped, which means the series likely won’t be pushed back due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak. Giancarlo Esposito’s villain Moff Gideon will also have a bigger role in season 2, who also confirmed that season 2 will feature “epic lightsaber action“. This could be where Ahsoka comes in, with the Jedi possibly saving the characters from the clutches of Moff Gideon.
If Disney does confirm that Dawson is playing Ahsoka, she will probably have a small role in the series since Dawson is only getting a guest role in season 2. Even if the character only briefly appears in season 2, fans will just be happy to finally see the live-action version of Ahsoka. Her species, Togruta, has been seen in the prequels, which is possibly what Ahsoka will look like in The Mandalorian. Until fans have their official look at Dawson as Ahsoka, there will surely be plenty more fan art to come out in the coming months.
