Actor Lakeith Stanfield, best known for his roles in Sorry to Bother You, Get Out, and Donald Glover’s FX series Atlanta, has shared a new single under the alias Htiekal (which, of course, is “Lakeith” backwards). Stanfield debuted his new song “Fast Life” in a recent interview with Max Cea for GQ. Watch the music video for the track below (via GQ).

Elsewhere in the interview, Stanfield discussed his life during quarantine, his highly creative nature, and the future of his music. According to GQ, Stanfield has an upcoming album on the way titled Self Control, which Lakeith says is “about struggling and striving and getting through the harder times—and coming out on the other side with some hope.”

Stanfield says that “Fast Life” is more or less about “being caught up in the lights and the glimmer of things. And within the dance of life sometimes not stopping to smell the roses.” When Cea asked if Stanfield has collaborated on music with his Atlanta co-star Donald Glover, Stanfield repied: “You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled to see.” Read the full interview here.
