Joker Finally Kills [SPOILER], But It’s Not Enough | Screen Rant

Movies

The Joker’s always had an unhealthy obsession with Batman. Usually, he doesn’t aim to kill the Caped Crusader, because, as Heath’s Ledger’s Joker put it, “I don’t want to kill you! What would I do without you? You… you… complete… me.” But, what happens when the Joker does decide to end Batman’s watch and murder his longtime rival?

In the upcoming The Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacularone particular story will focus on a future where a few years from now, the Joker actually succeeds in killing Batman. However, killing him doesn’t provide the kind of release the Clown Prince of Crime intended. In an effort to feel more, Joker plans an encore attack – this time at Batman’s memorial service.

In the story “Kill The Batman,” by Garry Whitta, Greg Miller, and Dan Mora, after the Joker kills Batman, he puts on a trench coat and hat as a disguise, straps a bomb to his chest and heads to Bruce Wayne’s memorial service. Since Batman is gone, Joker obviously wants to make an even bigger statement, by killing those who were fans of the hero – including himself. The Joker gets angry when he sees people laughing while Mr. Freeze speaks.

Joker Kills Batman 1

In another textless page, we can see a Daily Planet News reporter (likely Lois Lane) in the Batcave. It seems following the death of Batman, everything about his secret identity has gone public – including a tour of his most secretive space. Surely, the amount of love being poured out for Bruce Wayne and his heroism has to drive Joker a little bit madder.

The small story is going to be explosive. Killing Batman wasn’t enough for the Joker. Clearly, he wants to make a statement – and murdering hundreds of Batman fans would certainly do that. Killing them and himself at Bruce’s memorial service would ultimately be a massive, twisted end for the Joker.
