Trevi Moran, an American recording artist who shot to fame on the British X Factor, came out as trans in a poignant YouTube video Friday (June 6).

Moran, 21, made the announcement to her 1.44 million YouTube subscribers in a video titled “Coming out. I am female” which she admitted took her more than 14 takes to get right.

“Hi, my name is Trevi Moran,” she began her announcement video, “I am a transgender female. It’s a good start… I can’t believe I just said that out loud.”

“I’ve dealt with this feeling my entire life and I know that I am a woman, deep down inside.”

Trevi Moran plans to launch docuseries following her transition.

Aged just 13, a plucky Moran shot to fame when she appeared on the televised music competition in 2012.

The Los Angeles, California local auditioned with the LMFAO song, “Sexy and I Know It” and after being eliminated during the “boot camp” round, has been dropping music since.

“I hit a rock in my journey in 2017 when I thought I wasn’t transgender because I thought that people were pushing me to be transgender,” Moran continued in the video, referencing a 2017 vlog where she reflected on her gender identity and how she struggled to identify as a cis male.

“No, I just had a lot of demons back then.

“A lot of eating disorder stuff, self-confidence issues. It wasn’t the time for me to come out back then.”

Moran explained how she has been documenting her transition process and plans to release the footage as part of a docuseries titled: Trevi The Transition.

A preview of the series was included with the coming out video, showing Moran commenting on her changing body.

“I am two months in on hormones,” she said, “my brain is just everywhere.

“I am so hormonal, I mean my ass is getting fat as f**k, and I’m growing breasts, and it hurts.

“I’m going through a lot right now, all because I just want to be me.”

Wrapping up her video, she sought to reassure and encourage her followers, saying: “If you’re ever lost, just don’t go out, go in.

“Go in and find yourself because going out and distracting yourself defeats the purpose.”
