Single Review: Trenched “Wild Rides and Alibis”

Music

From the depths of one of the coolest albums of the year “Doves of War” by the alt rock band Trenched, comes their hot new single “Wild Rides and Alibis.” An emotionally charged rendezvous with love, cheating, passion, obsessions and possession….at least at first glance. Musically driven by bass riffs and pounding skins, catchy and insidious lyrics, the track has an anthemic commercial value. The song can possibly be the next wave of future music.

Expect the unusual when you “hop on this Wild Ride” ” That’s me and you, and you and I, we’ll stay together till we die. Until the ocean’s desert dry, until the stars fall from the sky. Till the oceans all go dry, until the stars fall from the sky. Like the twinkling in your eye, I’ll love you babe till I die.” … The answer..”I’ve never been the one who cheats, I’m just the one who’s asked to leave.” Lead singer’s Jimmi Ferris and Andrea Zatterio present a textured destiny to the craziness of obsessive love. They encompass the desire for trying Love over and over again even if it fails. When you fall in love, each time you hope it’s going to work and even though it doesn’t you still keep trying.

Although there are many songs on the subject this track is presented with an enchanting magic. As the other songs on “Doves of War” “Wild Rides and Alibis” posseses an air of darkness yet a grain of light and hope. It has a sexy, danceable quality and the essence of insanity that makes a song work. It’s lyrics are intense especially in the unique way they are presented. At the same time the track is fun. “Wild Rides and Alibis” is a song to take a chance on just like love….
