Angel Olsen performed on the latest edition of NPR’s “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” series. Seated on a willow-draped porch, she played the title track from her new album Whole New Mess, along with “Iota” (from 2014’s Burn Your Fire for No Witness), “What It Is (What It Is),” and “Waving, Smiling.” Watch it happen below.
Since releasing Whole New Mess in August, Olsen has covered George Harrison’s “Beware of Darkness” and Bobby Vinton’s “Mr. Lonely,” the latter of which appears in Miranda July’s new film KAJILLIONAIRE.
In September, Olsen featured on a 40-track compilation titled Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy. The proceeds from the comp went to Fair Fight—a voter rights organization that promotes fair elections through voter education, election reform, and combating voter suppression.
