RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews is officially off the market after announcing his engagement to his partner, Wellington García.

Mathews, 41, revealed on Tuesday (23 February) that he’d popped the question to his boyfriend after they’d been dating for over a year.

He broke the news on social media with a sweet photo of himself with his new fiancé smiling in their New York apartment. Both are wearing matching Gucci slides and rings on their left hands.

“Fiancé, you stay!” he captioned the happy picture. “I am so proud to announce that after over a year together – navigating a pandemic, quarantine and opposite coasts – the smartest, funniest and kindest man I’ve ever met said, ‘Yes!’

“Dr. García, I love you. A lifetime of adventure awaits.”

Ross Mathews was previously in a long-term relationship with Salvador Camarena, whom he dated for almost 10 years before the couple called it quits in 2018.

Later in 2019 he dated Ryan Fogarty, LeAnn Rimes’ tour production assistant.

Comparatively little is known about Wellington García as his public Instagram page has only one photo of the Empire State Building, but he’s made occasional appearances on Mathews’ social media over the past year.

The Drag Race judge divulged a few details in an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show shortly after announcing the engagement.

“About a year ago, I met somebody, who just changed my life, totally,” he said.

“His name is Dr. Wellington Garcia. And he’s an educator, and he’s hilarious, and he’s the smartest person I’ve ever met. And you know, Beyoncé says, ‘If you like it then you should’ve put a ring on it’ – well, I did.”

“‘I am the happiest man,” he continued. “I met somebody so extraordinary.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
