YouTuber star Gigi Gorgeous has come out for the “fourth time” as pansexual, crediting her spouse for helping her realise her sexuality.
The influencer revealed in a video titled “coming out for the last time” that she has learned more about herself and her sexuality from her spouse, Nats Getty.
Getty – who has not specified gender pronouns yet, but who Gorgeous refers to by he/him – came out as transgender non-binary in a topless photo on Instagram in January.
In her new YouTube video post on Friday (9 April), Gigi Gorgeous shared that she is coming out “for the fourth time” and the “last time” as pansexual. She shared her feelings about her previous coming out videos where she came out as gay, then came out as trans and then “came out as gay again”.
“Honestly, those are some of, if not my best, favourite memories,” Gorgeous said. “Searching deep within myself, finding out something different and putting a label on it.”
She said Getty’s own coming out in January had inspired her to reevaluate how she labelled her sexuality. Gigi Gorgeous explained Getty’s experience “unlocked inside of me” what has “always been there”, but it took her to get to “this stage of my life” to “open up” about her sexuality again.
“Over the years, I’ve realised that I didn’t fall in love with Nats because of his gender,” Gorgeous said. “I fell in love with the person that he is. I just want to let everybody know that I am pansexual.”
Gigi Gorgeous: Pansexual ‘never really stuck’ until now
Gigi Gorgeous said she had heard of pansexuality before and even had a “few friends that identified as that”. But she said it “never really stuck” with her as she could “never see myself as pansexual” until she fell in love with Getty. She said she now sees being pansexual as “falling in love with the soul of somebody”.
“I think that that’s one of the most beautiful things ever. It’s profound and amazing to me,” she said. “When I finally clicked with it and felt it…it was definitely a lightbulb moment.”
She reassured her fans that she is “absolutely okay”, and she feels truly “happy within myself and proud” to come out once again. Gorgeous even joked that coming out as pansexual makes her feel like “Gigi”. She said: “I’m like Gigi-sexual. No, that would mean I’m like only into myself.”
Gorgeous ended the video by sharing that others shouldn’t feel “shamed or push down who you’re meant to be” if they discover new aspects of their identity later on in life. She added: “It takes everybody a different amount of time, and I’m here for you.”
