French filmmaker Julia Ducournau made her solo feature debut a few years back with the critically acclaimed cannibal film Raw, and her next is titled Titane. At this time, plot details are so under wraps that we can’t even be sure whether or not the film is a horror movie, but this first-look image courtesy of Indiewire sure seems to suggest it’s something of a genre project.
Judging by this image alone, it would seem that Titane centers on a young woman in the wake of some kind of accident, strapped into a medical apparatus. Expect more soon…
Deadline reported back in 2019 that Titane had been acquired by Neon for North American release, and Indiewire notes that Titane will likely be released sometime later this year.
“Raw was one of the most earth-shattering debut films in recent memory,” Neon said in a statement, “and we’ve been waiting for Julia’s next film ever since.” Same, Neon. Same.
Titane is produced by Jean Christophe Reymond.
