Remember back in April Blue Box Studio had announced their “realistic survival shooter” Abandoned? They were originally scheduled to reveal the trailer for the game on Friday via a “dedicated reveal app”. However, that’s now been pushed back to August.
Blue Box Studio head Hasan Kahraman made the announcement to delay the app via Twitter. “We were hoping to release the app today, and I know that a lot of you have been looking forward to it, so thank you very much for that. However, I’ve decided to delay the app until August. That’s when the first trailer will also be released. We just wanted to give you a solid first impression of the game. Right now, the app isn’t quite there yet.”
As to what exactly this app is about isn’t clear. It’s been described as a partially-interactive experience intended to introduce the game as a sort of playable trailer.
Compounding things is Blue Box Studio having to disprove rumours and theories that the developer is really a front for Hideo Kojima and a secret Silent Hill game. Kahraman took to Twitter back in April to state that he was “not working on Silent Hill.”
Abandoned is reportedly heading to the PlayStation 5 later this year.
Thanks to Gamesradar for the heads up.
