Ice Nine Kills Pay Tribute to ‘American Psycho’ With “Hip To Be Scared” Music Video

Horror

The epic Paradise Lost is getting reimagined with King Woman‘s newest album, Celestial Blues, out July 30th via Relapse Records.

The gorgeous debut single and accompanying must-see music video for “Morning Star” made a surprise twist by turning singer Kristina Esfandiari into Lucifer, while the latest track, “Psychic Wound”, takes another sympathetic look at the story’s main character while also channeling Elizabeth Báthory.

“Psychic Wound” is one of the heavier tracks on Celestial Blues, which plays out like a doom gaze rock opera likened to classics such as The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, The Wall, Antichrist Superstar, and Operation Mindcrime.

“‘Psychic Wound’ is about paying the price for eating forbidden fruit,” explains Kris Esfandiari of the riveting track and its visual companion. “When desire turns into obsession it can keep you longer than you intended to stay and nearly destroy your sanity.”

The “Psychic Wound” video is also directed by Muted Widows
