Drag Race icon Eureka has received a flood of love and support from fans after revealing they have checked into rehab.

The self-proclaimed “Elephant Queen” announced in an open, honest Twitter post on Wednesday (23 February) that they had recently entered a rehab programme to get their “addiction and mental self under control”.

“I made this decision and it’s been really hard to be honest about it,” Eureka wrote. “I’m embarrassed! These are some of my first steps.”

Eureka told fans that they had been in rehab for “over a week” and was already feeling “clearer and better” as a result. They promised that they would be heading back to Vegas, where they star in RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!, in “mid-March”.

“I’m sorry to myself. Ya know? But really feeling the blessings,” Eureka added.

Droves of fans and drag stars quickly sent their love to Eureka, and many said they were proud of the We’re Here star for looking after their health and wellbeing.

Eureka has long been a fan-favourite for their stellar performances across several seasons of Drag Race. They first competed in season nine but had to bow out early due an injury. They came back swinging the following season, finishing as a runner-up.

Eureka later returned to compete on All Stars 6, being voted out of the top five but returning to the competition after an epic Kelly Clarkson lip-sync against Silky Nutmeg Ganache.

After the jaw-dropping showdown, Eureka kept rising to the top until they finally came in runner-up alongside Ginger Minj and Ra-Jah O’Hara.

They also landed a role in an episode of American Horror Story. Eureka also stars alongside fellow Drag Race alumna Bob The Drag Queen and Shangela in the critically-acclaimed HBO docu-series We’re Here.
