‘Evil Dead: The Game’ Sold Half a Million Copies in Just Five Days

Horror

Just how popular is the Evil Dead franchise here in the year 2022? Well, it’s only been one week since the release of Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game, the ultimate video game experience for fans of the franchise, and PC Games is reporting that the new game already sold more than 500,000 copies – yes, half a million! – in its first five days of release alone.

According to Saber Interactive’s CEO, Matthew Karch, sales on Evil Dead: The Game are “tracking better than the studio’s previous licensed outing, World War Z.”

In other words, Evil Dead: The Game is proving to be a massive hit for Saber in these early days, and more content is coming soon including a DLC map based on Army of Darkness!

The success of Evil Dead: The Game bodes well for the upcoming feature film Evil Dead Rise, a brand new movie that’s headed to HBO Max in the coming months.

Boss Team Games and Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game features single-player and co-op gameplay, promising to be the ultimate Evil Dead experience in the world of video games. Several characters from the movies and TV series will be playable in the game, along with four different versions of Deadite-slaying horror hero Ash Williams.

In the game, “Work together as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, crafting, managing your fear, and finding key artifacts to seal the breach between worlds. Or take control of the powerful Kandarian Demon to hunt Ash and his friends while possessing Deadites, the environment, and even the survivors themselves as you seek to swallow their souls.”

Brandon Trush writes in his review for BD, “Whether you’re just casually jumping in for a couple of matches here and there or you intend on fine-tuning your skills for a more competitive scene, the choice is yours, and it’ll be a blast either way. Take it from me: Evil Dead: The Game is sure to become one of the most ubiquitous titles in the asymmetrical horror genre.”
