After giving fans a taste of what’s to come during Steam Next Fest earlier this year, Wales Interactive has announced ahead of Gamescom 2022 that upcoming FPS Sker Ritual will be headed to Steam Early Access just in time for Halloween. Along with the news, the team has dropped a new Gamescom trailer for Sker Ritual that reveals new members of the Elite, whom you’ll be facing in addition to The Quiet Ones.
Wales Interactive also dropped a 7k enemy banner showing the Elite, who include the teleporting Banshee, the hard-headed electric Mariner, the invisible Phantom, and the pyro juggernaut Blazeslinger. Click on the image below to get the full size.
Sker Ritual is set after the events of Maid of Sker, taking place in the 1900s. Taking on more of a survival wave shooter this time around, players will be exploring a new area of Sker Island known as “The Cursed Lands of Lavernock”. Battling alongside up to three of your friends, you’ll be taking on old foes and the aforementioned Elite, each with a unique set of abilities that will force you to think on your strategies in order to survive.
Lucky for you, you’ve got some help in the form of Miracles. Killing enemies has the chance to drop these Miracles, which offer a choice of three random upgradable powers that buff or alter your shooting, melee, grenade and healing. Each Miracle is bound to a Celtic God and come in many forms including rarity, core attributes and power.
You’ll also be able to buy your guns, ammo, and more at The Laughing Policeman’s booth at locations around the maps. Buy stock munitions or gamble on a randomly picked weapon with a chance of gaining a higher base level.
The full launch of Sker Ritual is expected on PC and consoles in Q2 2023.
