The declaration comes the same day the band announced their 8th album So Much (for) Stardust
Hours after Fall Out Boy announced So Much (for) Stardust—their first new album since 2018—founding guitarist Joe Trohman posted a note on Instagram revealing he was “stepping away from Fall Out Boy for a spell,” citing a decline in his mental health. The band’s follow-up to 2018’s Mania, So Much (for) Stardust was produced by Neal Avron and is out March 24 via Fueled by Ramen and Elektra. In 2021, they embarked on the Hella Mega Tour with Weezer and Green Day; the band was forced to pull out of two dates when a “team member” tested positive for COVID-19.
