Last night, Boygenius were the musical guests on Saturday Night Live for the first time, and they also debuted a notable new impression. During a sketch where SNL castmember Sarah Sherman begins experiencing hallucinations of Troye Sivan as he appears in the “Got Me Started” music video, Boygenius and Timothée Chalamet appeared as four versions of Troye, complete with red briefs and signature choreography.

Sivan changed his profile picture on Instagram to a screenshot of Chalamet dressed up as him. “WHY IS LIFE SO WEIRDDDDD RN LMAO IM DEAD,” he added. Check out the sketch below.

It was Chalamet’s second time hosting the show. In his latest monologue, he began singing “Pure Imagination” (and plugging his new movie Wonka before pivoting to a rap about having a babyface. He also reprised his “Tiny Horse” bit and his performance as the rapper SmokeCheddaDaAssGetta.

Boygenius also performed two songs from their Grammy-nominated album The Record: “Not Strong Enough” and “Satanist.” It was Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus’ first time on the show. Phoebe Bridgers made her debut in 2021, alongside host Dan Levy. Boygenius and Sivan both just got nominated for Grammys.
