Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet are going their separate ways.

The Oscar-winning actress and French actor-director, who starred together in the 2003 movie Love Me If You Dare, have broken up after nearly two decades together, according to their reps.

“After 18 years together, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have decided to separate by mutual agreement,” the couple shared in a translated statement to the French publication Agence France-Presse. “This decision was made with mutual goodwill.”

Marion and Guillaume—who share kids Marcel, 13, and Louise, 8—added that as the “parents of two children,” they decided to “share this decision here in order to avoid all speculation, rumors and risky interpretations.”

The couple also asked the public to respect their privacy during this transitional time.

“By demonstrating transparency through this press release, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet also express their desire that their private lives,” the statement continued, “especially those of their two children, be respected.”
