Dexter fans left howling after unlikely Drag Race crossover

Fans are gagged after serial killer sequel series Dexter: Resurrection included a clip of RuPaul’s Drag Race, season 14, in its latest episode.

The follow up to the hugely popular 2000s series Dexter, which follows Michael C. Hall as the sociopathic serial-killer-by-night-forensics-expert-by-day of the same name, Dexter: Rebirth is midway through its first season.

And though the cast features stars like Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage and Neil Patrick Harris, Dexter: Resurrection has also, vicariously, drafted RuPaul’s Drag Race icons Michelle Visage and Kerri Colby into the mix.

We know, record scratch moment, that. But let us explain.

In a clip from Dexter: Resurrection‘s third episode, titled “Backseat Driver” and first aired 18 July, Harrison Morgan (Dexter’s son, played by Jack Alcott) is invited back to Elsa’s (Emilia Suárez) residence to “watch the new episode of Drag Race“.

Smash cut to the pair relaxing with some beers, as RuPaul’s signature laugh plays on a TV, and Michelle Visage is heard critiquing All Stars 10 queen Kerri Colby, during her initial appearance on season 14 of the franchise.

The clip in concern shows Kerri during season 14’s fourth episode, after the queens had competed in a “Night of A 1000 JLo’s” runway. And though the Dexter episode was aired nearly a month ago, a clip has found its way to X today (11 Aug) – and fans are losing it.

“We got a RuPaul [laugh] in Dexter before GTA6,” the fan wrote on X, much to the amusement of fellow viewers –including season 16’s Morphine Love Dion, who commented: “Omggg”.

“Kerri Colby canonically existing in Dexter,” another fan joked.

A third added: “The concept of Bebe being crowned as the Trinity killer is on the loose.”

“Season 14 still hasn’t ended in this universe,” joked another, referencing season 14’s many non-elimination twists.

Dexter: Resurrection airs on Paramount+ with Showtime on Fridays.
