Almost a year on from the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season six premiere, La Voix has had time to consider whether she’d return to the franchise.
The British queen came second last year, losing at the death to Kyran Thrax. But she excelled during the show, emerging as a frontrunner early on and memorably creating one of the best takes on Liza Minnelli in the history of the Snatch Game.
After being named as one of the contestants in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix spoke to PinkNews about stepping into the ballroom as well as her upcoming tour.

“I’ve got an amazing thanks to [Drag Race],” she said. “It was the most bonkers experience and it got me from doing theatre to TV.”
But the biggest change has been her relationship with her dad.
A standout moment from Drag Race was when her 78-year-old father Richard stole the show with an impassioned speech about parents loving their queer children unconditionally. Since then, he has joined La Voix on tour and at Pride events. “It’s brought us closer together as a family. We’ve had conversations [we’d] never had before,” she said.
“Anyone who’s got supportive parents, you can’t take that for granted,” the queen added.“It was so nice to have that moment with my dad. I wouldn’t have picked [to have it] on Drag Race but it was amazing how that panned out.”

Asked if she’d ever want to return to Drag Race, La Voix replied: “I didn’t do too badly, why would you go in there and risk it all again? No, I can’t do that.”
But, after joking that following Strictly she’ll be busy “touring the world with my dance show, doing high kicks and splits,” she left a small window of hope for fans.
“I’m an entertainer through and through,” she said.I never say no to anything. Who knows, but I want to keep exploring, more adventures, more touring. I’d like to see more of Europe, the States, Australia.
“The world is a very unfunny place. We need to save this place. So, if I can bring entertainment across whatever medium, then I’m happy with that. I just want to keep smiling, keep entertaining. That’s my motto.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is streaming on the BBC iPlayer now.
