Ciara Is Making Pumpkin Spice Fashionable, And We’re Sold!

Fashion

Just in time to keep Canadian Thanksgiving going, our lord and saviour of all that is hip and fashionable, Ciara, has swooped in with the fall fashion OOTD we all need. Taking to Instagram on October 13, the “Level Up” singer shared a series of photos of herself walking the streets of NYC in what can only be described as an IRL version of my mom’s infamous pumpkin spice cheesecake.

And while pumpkin spice-flavoured everything (minus my mom’s cheesecake, of course) is *out* for the time being—you can thank Hormel Foods Corp., the company that manufactures Spam, for that after they tried to infuse the autumnal spice into literal congealed meat—we’re deciding that it’s absolutely *in* when it comes to sartorial flavour. All I want to wear this fall season is pumpkin spice-coloured clothing and Ciara got the memo!!

Ciara is the queen of dressing for any and all occasions. From rocking her hubby’s team merch on the airport tarmac and killing it on stage in a corseted jumpsuit (seriously, who else can make a risky outfit like that look so damn easy?) to giving us some “yeehaw agenda” realness in France, Cici can do no wrong when it comes to fashion, so it’s no surprise that she just gets us and our love for this look. This hue is reminiscent of everything we need for a cozy girl fall: piles of crunchy leaves, hot apple cider, crackling fires. And yes, we want it on our bodies.

The best part about this colour? If you don’t even want to hear the term “pumpkin spice” (one FLARE editor boycotted it after they started making deodorant—deodorant!—in the scent) until at least 2022, you can call this spicy hue whatever you want. Could we call it cider? Perhaps. Does it look like a slightly deeper version of classic camel? Definitely. Dare we deem it’s more of a burnt toffee or butterscotch? I could be convinced.

I saw Ciara wearing pumpkin spice coloured trousers and boots, so I bought pumpkin spice coloured trousers and boots. And I loved it.
