It’s evident from just a few Facebook posts that musician and artist Manny Cabo is an upbeat, positive guy. He’s also always on the move. The former The Voice Season Nine contestant and rocker is back again with his latest single, “All Night Again”. The powerhouse vocalist assures the listener that his emotion is more than skin deep; “All Night Again” pierces listeners’ hearts.

Known for stunning all four judges on his first appearance on The Voice, the singer behind renditions of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” and Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again”, Cabo wasted little time converting the audience to his corner; while his time was cut short on The Voice, the Elizabeth, New Jersey – native, saw it as a chance to catapult his career. Now based in Nashville, and years of cover band songs behind him, Cabo continues to release original music. “All Night Again” is the latest release where he’s combined efforts with songwriter, Bonnie Warren. The pair previously collaborated on “Hate Has No Home Here” (2017) and “Wear Your Words” (2018). Rock fans will want to turn back time and only revel in Cabo’s spot-on rock covers, but they should reconsider. Living in the past and swimming in nostalgia can only sustain an artist for so long. Cabo can really sing any genre, and he proves when it’s coming from his own heart, there’s nothing he can’t tackle.
One of the first things the listener notices in “All Night Again” is the power behind the piano. It’s not haunting or jarring. It’s smooth like river rocks. Restless, the piano collides with Cabo’s voice in a most copesetic way. He’s enlightened. The song creates moments where the outer, rock shell surrounding Cabo’s vocals is cracked. He’s left with a softer, more tender hearted delivery. Then, just when you think he’s continuing down that road, the growling, breathier timbre remerges. It’s dynamic and bold. His voice sinks into the piano like creamer to coffee. When I can spend all night with you again, he sings in the chorus. His voice, dipping for added drama, torn at every turn.
Cabo is singing about the realities facing health care workers and front line responders during the Covid-19 pandemic. Warren’s words are germane to the present, but in many ways, she writes of any time in history. Tomorrow is not promised; Cabo’s instinctual performance is lauded for his sometimes intense, but sweetly intended residues. He leaves a lasting mark in the lister and when he sings when it hurts this much, the listener is ready, arm stretched, to lend a hand. If ever there were a time for a national calling, this song puts the selfless into the spotlight. Cabo is the projector and Warren is the battery pack. “All Night Again” is a snapshot in time, one where the tunnel only has slivers of light passing through its dark walls. While we will get through this as a global community, “All Night Again” is part of the healing process. Cabo’s joyful voice is the most beautiful distraction.
