Nina Simone’s classic 1965 albums I Put a Spell On You and Pastel Blues are being reissued on vinyl as part of Verve/UMe’s “audiophile-grade” reissue series Acoustic Sounds. The remastered Simone albums both arrive November 6 on 180g vinyl; pre-order each of them here.
Released four months apart, I Put a Spell On You and Pastel Blues capture two different sides of Simone’s artistry. The latter, recorded with a jazz quintet, includes her classic renditions of “Sinnerman” and “Strange Fruit.”
