Thank you for doing our interview! Tell our readers more about how you got started and where you are located!
Thanks so much for inviting me to interview! I’m excited for my recent album. It’s available on all streaming platforms 9/25.
I got started in performance and singing when I was really young. I started through studying musical theatre.
For songwriting, I learned my way through rock ‘n roll and poetry. I am located in Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in Houston, TX though.
I love both areas of the country for different reasons.
Do you believe in Goal Setting or taking it day by day?
A balance of both. For example. I keep a physical weekly/monthly planner with me, pretty much at all times, unless I am just leaving the house for a brief run.
In my planner, I have a running list of things on my to-do list. Some are top priority tasks to achieve that week… some are more long term goals like ‘write 3rd book’, new website, answer emails. I also account for my long term goals and talk about my driving passions with close friends, mentors, and other artists.
I will write the dreams in my journal, meditate on my vision board, and feel as if the goals have already manifested. I take it day by day to live in the present and then I buckle down to get honest about what I see for my future. It’s exciting. Each achievement.
What is your strategy for success?
Gratitude and a steady ease in my approach to success. I feel like the entertainment business requires so much dedication that I absolutely have to live every moment through a lens of gratitude. Everything I do and think about is a part of my art life. I bring my whole personal life into my writing. That authenticity drives a lot of the achievement and recognition from others. Also, ‘steady ease in my approach to success’ means: keep going, and be chill. It will all come together in time.
Greatest achievement so far?
This makes me smile, because I am wondering what memory to share about. Right now, it is the release of my third album. Many days it’s the relationship I have with my friends and family. Some days, it is self-love. I am proud of myself for the books I’ve published, the songs I’ve charted, loving to volunteer, having a spiritual life, and for just like living a chill existence ~ and sharing in those good vibes with others!
