Drag Race UK finalist Tayce has clapped back at fellow star Vinegar Strokes after she accused her of looking like a “drag queen from brunch”.

Vinegar Strokes, who placed eighth on season one of Drag Race UK, said during a live session for G-A-Y that often the queens “blame the edits” if someone “looks like a b***h”. But she added: “I blame the edits for making Tayce look better than she actually is.”

“I don’t want to see the drag queen I know from brunch or from the five-minute gig you do in the bar and then get drunk with afterwards,” Vinegar added.

She then continued by saying she saw “Tayce in the same jumpsuits, same colours” week after week. Vinegar also claimed that Tayce “let A’Whora s**k her off and then make her outfits”.

Vinegar Strokes also said if Tayce was “bringing the Drag Race version of Tayce” she would “be all over it” because she is a fan of the season two star.

“But I’ve not seen a Drag Race version,” Vinegar explained. “I’ve seen [the] same jumpsuit, same colours, and I’m just a bit bored.”

Both Jiggly and Tia Kofi, who were also in the live session, were shocked by Vinegar’s comments.

Tayce shared clips from the livestream on her Twitter, saying “I mean don’t hold back girl”. She also jokingly said it was her “mistake” to show Vinegar “all my runway looks at brunch before hand”.

In the most burn-worthy of retorts, Tayce added: “I’ll try and bring that ‘DRAG RACE’ version of me that ya looking for next time. Anyway, I’m off to get ready for the finale.”

She then said she “forgot how bitter Vinegar actually was until today” and “wouldn’t be so pressed if [we] weren’t meant to be friends”.

“However ‘friends’ is an overstatement now,” she said. She ended the tweet with “#byehodgepodge” and the Double Hearts emoji.

Tayce later posted a follow-up tweet addressing Vinegar’s claims that Drag Race editors “made me look better than I actually am”.

“Tell me to my visage next time if that’s not how you feel,” she added.

Drag Race UK favourite A’Whora also jumped in to defend her friend on Twitter. She tweeted at Vinegar that Tayce “didn’t need to ‘s**k me off’ to make any clothes, it’s called ‘respect’ and having your friend’s back, which clearly you don’t know much of now you wanna run your mouth about your sisters”.

“For someone who’s brand is ‘hodge podge’ it’s not your place,” she said.

Prinx Chiyo, trans drag artist and Mr Gay England 2021 finalist, also chimed in defence of Tayce, saying “brunch level” Tayce “would have still made it to the top four” of Drag Race.

“The b***h is an icon,” Chiyo tweeted. “Tayce at ‘BRUNCH’ is still once of the most bada** performers in the UK.”

Many fans reacted to the drama by sharing Tayce’s iconic quote: “The cheek, the nerve, the audacity, the gall and the gumption.”
