Marvel Officially Reveals Wolverines Costume For His Next Appearance After Deadpool & Wolverine
Movies

Wolverine is officially coming back soon in a Marvel Studios project for the first time since Deadpool & Wolverine, and when he does so, it will be with one of Logan’s best costumes from the comics. Wolverine has had a long history in Marvel adaptations. Throughout most of that period, it has been with Hugh Jackman playing the role, making Wolverine a true phenomenon.

After a trilogy of Wolverine movies and a starring role in several X-Men films set in two different continuities, Jackman finally joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool & Wolverine was a movie of firsts for Marvel, standing as the MCU’s first R-rated movie and the franchise’s first entry to fully focus on the mutant characters that came from Disney acquiring Fox.

It is one of the best MCU movies, but not the end of the road for Wolverine. The character could very well return in the MCU’s X-Men movie, which is being developed by Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier, with Jackman’s Wolverine also rumored to appear in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday. Before then, another Marvel Studios take on Wolverine returns this year.

🐺

Wolverine (Logan)

“I’m the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn’t very nice.”
You’re the fierce loner who acts first and philosophises later — but beneath that adamantium-plated exterior beats a heart that cares far more than you’d ever admit. You’ve been burned enough times to distrust the world, so you keep people at arm’s length, yet you’d throw yourself into any fight to protect the ones who slip past your defences. You don’t need a cause or a manifesto — you just need someone worth fighting for. Like Logan, your greatest strength isn’t your claws or your healing factor; it’s the stubborn refusal to let the people you love face danger alone.

Protective

Untamed

🧠

Professor X (Charles Xavier)

“Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn’t mean they’re lost forever.”
You’re the visionary who sees the best in everyone — even when the world gives you every reason not to. Your greatest power isn’t telepathy; it’s an unshakeable belief that understanding and compassion can bridge any divide. You lead not through force but through hope, building bridges where others build walls. Some call you naive, but you know that real strength lies in extending a hand to your enemy. Like Charles Xavier, you carry the weight of a dream that most consider impossible, and you refuse to let it die.

Visionary
Empathetic
Diplomatic
Hopeful

🧲

Magneto (Erik Lehnsherr)

“Peace was never an option.”
You’re the survivor who learned the hardest lesson life has to offer: the world will not protect you, so you must protect yourself. Your conviction is unbreakable and your patience is terrifying — you’ll wait years to set the right plan in motion. You don’t hate humanity; you simply refuse to let your people be victims ever again. Every action you take, no matter how ruthless, is driven by a profound love for those who share your struggle. Like Erik Lehnsherr, you are both revolutionary and tragic — a leader forged in pain who will bend the world before it bends you.

X-Men ’97 season 2 will debut on July 1 on Disney+. The animated Marvel series is a sequel to the classic X-Men: The Animated Series, with season 1 having debuted on the streaming service on March 20, 2024. Alongside the announcement of when the show will be back was the first X-Men ’97 season 2 trailer, and it revealed something big for Wolverine.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 Brings Back A Classic Wolverine Suit

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has worn many suits in live-action, with the character finally donning his fan-favorite yellow and blue X-Men costume from the comics in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Through Deadpool’s multiverse-hopping, Marvel fans were also treated to several different versions of Wolverine across the multiverse, and many of those Logan variants wore exciting comics-accurate suits. One of them had Wolverine’s classic brown and tan suit, and that Wolverine was set to fight a version of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, only Deadpool was sent flying out of that universe before the fight, not allowing fans to see the beloved suit in action.

The X-Men ’97 season 2 trailer makes up for that by confirming that its animated version of Wolverine will not only be donning a new suit when the animated series returns, but it will also be the classic brown and tan suit. Wolverine can be seen wearing his brown and tan costume multiple times, including inside the X-Jet during a conversation with Morph, and after it lands, as several X-Men prepare for battle, giving a good look at the costume. X-Men ’97 season 2’s version of the suit is sleeveless, with brown trunks.

Another Major Wolverine Element Will Be Back In X-Men ’97 Season 2

Aside from donning his exciting brown and tan suit, Logan will also be going back to another classic element, as Wolverine’s adamantium claws also return in the X-Men ’97 season 2 trailer. As the X-Men line up to face an unseen threat, Wolverine pops his claws, revealing them to be his usual adamantium ones, not the simpler bone claws. This is a major reveal for the character’s story in the animated series, as Magneto stripped Wolverine’s skeleton of adamantium when they fought in X-Men ’97 season 1, episode 9. While that almost killed Wolverine, he has made a full recovery.

For now, it remains to be seen how Wolverine gets his adamantium claws back or how many episodes it will take for him to get there. As for the suit, Wolverine had changed from the yellow and blue costume late in season 1, teasing that the brown and tan costume might not be the only suit the Marvel hero will wear when X-Men ’97 season 2 rolls around.
