Review: The PondHawks “Invisible Stranger”

Music

Who or what is the “Invisible Stranger?” For that Matter who and what are The PondHawks? An indie group out of Chicago, The PondHawks are one of music’s best kept secret treasures. Their release of “Invisible Stranger” serves to make them even more valuable to the music industry as well as to the history of mankind during this surreal time.

Just released “Invisible Stranger” will go down in the chronicles of humankind for years to come as a warning and a sense of hope in a time when all hope was nearly erased. Musically the song and vocally the lyrics made an impact, reminding me that there is a lot of creativity going around. However aside from the pandemic the song itself is one that stays in your mind and at the tip of your tongue.

The PondHawks were formed in 2007 by lead singer and guitarist Mario Novelli who welcomed Jorie Gracen into the fold with her unique harmonies and keyboard synth. The duet is a colorful combination of upbeat pop influenced by The Beatles and ELO. They have a large fan base following and a huge social media presence. They continue to create a buzz even during these isolated times. They are a band that insists on being known and their new song “Invisible Stranger” will certainly see to that. In any case they deserve kudos for their creativity and their incredible harmonies.

5/5 Stars
