How To Find (& Get) Bunny Day Eggs in Animal Crossing (2021)

Movies

Bunny Day 2021 has finally arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and fans can once again find six varieties of Eggs hidden around their island home. Bunny Day was the first official event held in Animal Crossing: New Horizons when the game released last year, and it is now the first ever repeat event. Last year’s Bunny Day didn’t seem to impress many Animal Crossing fans, to the point that some players may wonder how to avoid the event this year. However, a few changes have been implemented to make the event a little more engaging for players.

Players can still hunt for Eggs this year. It seems developers at Nintendo took fan criticism to heart from last year, as this year players can only find a limited number of most kinds of Egg each day. There are six Egg types players can find hidden around the island: Earth, Leaf, Sky, Stone, Water, and Wood. The name of each kind of Egg gives players a clue about where and how to find them. Eggs are used to craft special Bunny Day DIY recipes players can unlock during the week-long event. Here’s how to find each kind of Bunny Day Egg in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

How to Find Each Kind of Bunny Day Egg in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Bunny Day festivities in Animal Crossing: New Horizon began on March 28 and will continue through April 4, coinciding with the Easter holiday. During this week, players can purchase seasonal Bunny Day items from Nook’s Cranny, find special Bunny Day DIY recipes by shooting down balloon presents with a slingshot, talking to villagers, and looking for messages in bottles, and of course find and talk to the sometimes unsettling-looking Zipper T. Bunny. They can also hunt for Eggs, either on their island or on mystery islands accessed by purchasing Nook Miles Tickets.

The drop rate for many Egg types tends to be a little higher on Mystery Island tours, especially for Egg types that come with a limit. Players looking to complete their item sets quickly may want to consider taking a few trips to deserted islands to farm Earth, Leaf, Stone, and Wood Eggs as needed.

Each type of Egg, and where players can find them, appear below:

  • Earth Eggs: Found by digging on a star or X in the grass. Players will only find four of these buried each day of the event.
  • Leaf Eggs: Found by shaking non-fruit trees. Players will only find three trees and about nine Leaf Eggs each day of the event.
  • Sky Eggs: Found by shooting down balloon presents that have a rainbow balloon design. Players can find an unlimited number of these per day, but many balloon presents will instead contain DIY recipes.
  • Stone Eggs: Found by hitting rocks around the island with a shovel or axe. Players will find anywhere from 0-8 Stone Eggs per rock.
  • Water Eggs: Found when fishing in bodies of water around the island. Players can find an unlimited number of these per day.
  • Wood Eggs: Found by hitting wood or palm trees around the island with an axe. Players can find between 0 and 3 Wood Eggs per tree.

Most of the time, players will find Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day Eggs around their island or by taking a Mystery Island tour. However, there are a few other ways players can get the Eggs they want to craft all the limited-time items.

In the 2021 version of the Bunny Day event, villagers can now “ping” and run toward the player character to share Eggs. These villagers will offer to gift players five Eggs in a random type for free. This can be triggered more frequently by entering and leaving buildings near villagers and can be a good way to get the more limited Egg varieties quickly.

Another way players can get Eggs is through trading, though this option is only available on April 4, the last day of the event. Players can talk to Zipper to trade Egg types they found a lot of for ones they have the least of so they can craft all the limited-time DIY recipes before they are gone.

Once players collect enough of each type of Egg, their character will think of a new DIY recipe. This unlocks recipes for Egg-themed clothing items and accessories. Each type of Egg has a special clothing set and an accessory players can craft. There is also a special Egg Party Dress and Egg Party Hat that players will only unlock once they’ve unlocked the recipes for the other six Egg type clothing sets.
