Hitman 3 Season of Sloth Full Roadmap & New Elusive Targets Revealed

The Season of Sloth in Hitman 3 starts today, and a full roadmap along with new targets has been revealed by IO Interactive. The Season of Sloth is part of Hitman 3: Seven Deadly Sins, a seven-part DLC expansion which takes place after the base game. The base game was a commercial success, so it would make sense that the developers want to keep the game going after release. The first of the seven seasons, Season of Greed, started the first week of April. The second season, Season of Pride, started May 10 and ends with Season of Sloth starting today.

Hitman 3 is a stealth game by IO Interactive that was released in January 2021 and is available on all consoles, including the Nintendo Switch and Stadia (though it is under the title Hitman: World of Assassination). Though it is the third and final World of Assassination trilogy game, it is the eighth Hitman game overall. The main story arc follows Agent 47 and his allies one last time as they hunt down leaders of Providence. The game debuted to positive reviews from critics and gamers alike, most of which commented that the final game was a fitting end to the recent trilogy.

Key components of the Season of Sloth include The Sloth Depletion Escalation (which launched today) and The Liability: Berlin Elusive Target (which launches June 17 and lasts until June 28).  With the Sloth Depletion Escalation, players will get to experience a reworking of the Dartmoor location, work with a brutality meter and unlock sin-themed items, including cosmetics and weapons (via IO Interactive). The object behind this act is to have players slow down and plan out their moves. The elusive target for this act is one who fits the theme as well: a construction inspector who doesn’t actually do the building inspections but would rather shake hands and get paid instead of keeping people safe.

The roadmap for the Season of Sloth also includes a new free location for all Hitman 3 owners with a new elusive target. The new location in the free rotation, Sapienza, is an Italian coastal town where players can explore the mansion or walk the streets, and is available for ten days from June 25 to July 4. The elusive target for this location is a twin: one twin is the client while the other is the target. These targets arrive in Sapienza for ten days, from July 2 to July 12. Lastly, there will be community contracts and featured contracts for players to go through. As a reward for completing 40 featured contracts, players will unlock the ICA 19 F/A Stealth “Ducky” Edition, a pistol with a silencer and decorated with a rubber duck, and a yellow/orange grip with a rubber duck silhouette.

Post-launch game support is a good indicator of the game’s lifecycle, whether good or bad. Six months post-launch, IO Interactive is still providing updates and content (paid and free) to Hitman 3 while working on a new game. By having the main DLC under one theme, the seven deadly sins, IO Interactive is allowed to be creative with the new content while still building off of what was already released, staying consistent with the amount and type of new content and thus staying reliable to the fanbase. The Season of Sloth is true to Hitman 3, and players are sure to enjoy themselves with this new DLC act.
