Portishead will regroup next month for their first show in 7 years, playing a short set as part of a War Child benefit concert supporting relief efforts in Ukraine. The 1200 tickets for the show, which takes place in the band’s Bristol hometown, will be raffled off in pairs, but everyone who enters will gain access to a livestream. (A single entry is free for those who send a postcard to a UK address—see more below.) Donating £10, or around $13, creates three entries. Enter here before 7 p.m. on April 24.
Idles, Billy Nomates, Katy J Pearson, Heavy Lungs, and Wilderman are also playing the six-hour concert. In a statement, Portishead said: “We are really pleased to be able to support the people of Ukraine by performing a few songs at this event in collaboration with the amazing War Child charity.”
Massive Attack’s Robert del Naja created artwork and merch for the show. The UK government is matching donations with funding for the concurrent humanitarian crisis in Yemen, according to the War Child press release.
