Miles Schon and Michael Shapiro, the brain children of Many Miles Away, have released their first single of their up-and-coming album, entitled “Can You Feel It” via Tribeca Records (a SohoJohnny Enterprise). Music genius is rooted in the heart, but receives its impressions through the ear. Like nature sketched in the raw, these artists are the fire that animates them, and carries them away irresistibly to find their own orbit. They create all which escapes definite rules, and are completely opposed to the spirit of imitation, with originality as a powerful attribute.
“Can You Feel It” rocks! This song has a vested interest in our believing in the flash revelation that we call inspiration. The instrumentals are beyond eloquent, and enthusiastic. Schon’s guitar work is brilliant and reverberant while Shapiro‘s vocals are symphonic and euphoric.
Aside from the music, the video that accompanies the song is an edgy celebration of art. Bordering on avant-garde, with an attitude, the video violates, be expected, and shows the audience a surprising new look to a black and white tapestry. The video takes coolness to the extreme and almost beyond the realm of actual possibilities.
Many Miles Away consists of musicians Miles Schon, Michael Shapiro and producer Tom Fletcher. Miles was raised in San Francisco amidst a family of rockers. As a self-taught musician, he is recognized for his fiery speed and his outrageous, solos and soulful blues. He has performed with artists, including: Grammy winning Jonathan Cain, Will Champlin, Scott Page, Steven Perkins, and an array of others.
Michael Shapiro has jammed with Bruce Springsteen, toured with the Romantics, Cheap Trick, and Great White. He’s also the mastermind of the Vegas sensation “ Reckless in Vegas” where he and his band echo the shadows of Sin City in the 60s with performances, incorporating modern versions of songs by artists, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Cher, Neil Diamond, and others.
