New ‘Warhammer 40K: Boltgun’ Gameplay Trailer Boasts of Bloody Pixels [Watch]

Ed Boon is at it again with teasing the next Mortal Kombat entry. Much like the tease at the end of the video celebrating 30 years of the Mortal Kombat franchise, this new teaser has to do with time.

Over on the official YouTube page for Mortal Kombat, a new 16 second video entitled “It Is Almost Time” has shown up, featuring a ticking clock. As the clock ticks upwards to 12, it stops at 11, struggles, then skips over 12 to one.

As we mentioned before, there’s speculation that based on the events of Mortal Kombat 11, we could be going the “retelling” route with Mortal Kombat 12, going back to the original game again. Or, we could see a full-on reboot, this time from an alternate timeline.

Obviously, your guess is as good as ours, and until Boon and NetherRealm finally reveal just what their plans are, we can only guess.

Speaking of plans, after that leak from earlier this year about the next Mortal Kombat entry coming later this year, when will we actually get the big reveal? Summer Game Fest 2023 is happening on June 8, while Microsoft is having its Xbox Showcase on June 11. As for Sony, plans for another State of Play haven’t been announced as of yet, but it’s certainly going to be happening relatively soon, given what’s going on next month.

As one ad for the original Mortal Kombat once said, prepare yourself.
