‘Flowervale Street’ – Bad Robot’s Mysterious IMAX Event from ‘It Follows’ Director Gets Title and Date

Horror

David Robert Mitchell (It Follows) is directing a genre movie for J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot that’s so secretive we didn’t even have a title. Until now. And we also have a release date!

Deadline reports today that the mysterious event movie from Bad Robot and David Robert Mitchell is titled Flowervale Street, with an IMAX release date set for May 16, 2025.

Now that we have a title and a release date, what about a plot synopsis? Well, that part is still a secret. We have literally no idea what Flowervale Street is about at this time, but we’d like to at least recklessly speculate that it’s a Cloverfield Universe movie. It’s more than likely not, mind you – this is a Warner Bros. Pictures project versus a Paramount release, for starters – but there’s just something about that title that feels very… 10 Cloverfield Lane, isn’t there?

The film is said to be an IMAX “thrill ride,” and the secretive marketing at the very least calls to mind Bad Robot’s Cloverfield strategy. Our interest is mighty piqued, that’s for damn sure.

Stay tuned for more on Flowervale Street as we learn it.

Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery will star.

Mitchell directs from his own original script and is producing alongside J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella for Bad Robot, Jackson Pictures’ Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper.

David Robert Mitchell is also returning to the world of his horror hit It Follows with the upcoming They Follow, which will bring Maika Monroe back as Jay Height.
