DC officially reveals the first glimpse at its new version of Two-Face, who holds a grudge with a vigilante that isn’t Batman. Batman’s rogues’ gallery is full of brilliantly designed DC Comics villains. Iconic designs like Mr. Freeze’s domed cryogenic suit, Bane’s minimalistic luchador aesthetic, the Penguin’s grimy mafia fashion style, and the Joker’s increasingly creepy clown motifs are all instantly recognizable and convey a clear narrative intent. Other obscure, avant-garde designs like the Phantasm’s grim reaper-inspired cowl and Doctor Death’s nightmarish face are equally memorable and inspired.
Two-Face’s design is a literal manifestation of a fractured soul. The stark contrast between the pristine Harvey Dent and the scarred criminal, often heightened by his bisected suits, visually represents the total collapse of his once-rigid morality. Two-Face’s obsession with the number two and his reliance on a silver dollar to make every decision is a defensive mechanism against a world he perceives as unfair. This makes the line between victim and villain incredibly blurry. Harvey Dent can be a brutal murderer one moment and a sorrowful ally the next.
Two-Face’s origin, personality, and character design are too specific to be copied without creating direct parallels to Harvey Dent and his tragic story. However, DC dares to introduce a very similar character within Catwoman lore.
Katarina Belov Becomes Catwoman’s Version Of Two-Face
Catwoman #86; Written by Torunn Grønbekk; Art by Davide Gianfelice
Selina Kyle has been waging a one-thief war against the Belov family, having survived multiple betrayals and hits from several siblings. Catwoman decides that all bets are off when she discovers that Evie Hall, the young woman she’s borrowing her fake identity from, has been murdered by the Belovs. In Catwoman #78, Selina Kyle lights the Belov family’s mansion on fire, leading the matriarch Katarina Belov to shoot her own son before getting trapped inside her burning home.
Katarina appears to give up and die, and Selina seemingly closes that chapter of her life. However, preview pages for Catwoman #86 reveal that Katarina survived. Badly burned and poorly healed, Katarina Belov now swears revenge on Selina Kyle, wearing a half-golden, half-black mask and focused not on her injuries but on the massive loss they represent. Katarina Belov’s mask and stoic demeanor resemble Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two-Face’s half-and-half motif and his obsession with duality and chance.

Who Is Wonder Woman’s Ultimate Enemy? DC Has an Official Answer
Wonder Woman is set to usher in DC’s darkest era yet in 2026, one defined by a fallen Justice League and the rise of a terrifying new villain.
Hopefully, Katarina Belov earns a moniker of her own and becomes a recurring Catwoman foe following her villain origin story. Selina is unprepared to deal with Katarina’s vengeance plans and Black Mask’s new role in them. It’s possible that Katarina will manage to leave a permanent mark of her own in Catwoman’s life next time they cross paths, which could lead to the beginning of a long-running rivalry between the two.
Katarina Belov Could Become A Major Recurring Catwoman Villain
Katarina Has The Opportunity To Become The Harvey Dent To Catwoman’s Batman
As one of DC’s most famous anti-heroes, Catwoman needs a specialized rogues’ gallery of her own. While she frequently clashes with Batman’s traditional foes, Selina Kyle’s best stories often feature antagonists who challenge her specific code of ethics or her status as Gotham’s greatest thief. Recurring foes like Zephyr, Cyber-Cat, and the lethal Hellhound provide a physical challenge that mirrors her own agility and skill, but there’s immense potential in expanding this roster.
Characters who represent the predatory elite or corrupt law enforcement are the perfect foils for Selina, as she’s at her best when she’s fighting the wealthy. However, Selina Kyle regularly faces both heroic and villainous opposition. Because she exists in a gray area, Catwoman can be pursued by dedicated detectives like Slam Bradley or high-minded heroes like Batgirl, while simultaneously defending her turf from brutal mobsters like Black Mask or rival sirens like Madame Zodiac. This varied opposition creates a dynamic where Selina must use her wits to evade the law and her claws to survive the criminal underworld.
