Critical Reflex Announces Trio of Publishing Updates, Including the Reveal of ‘SOS Recordings’ [Trailer] – Bloody Disgusting

Not to be outdone by Black Lantern Collective’s recent announcements, Critical Reflex has announced a trio of new publishing announcements for haunting historical mystery title SOS Recordings, stomach-churning culinary adventure Cucina Stellata, and atmospheric horror experience Grobnopolis | Last Days.

Coming to Steam later this year, PackDev’s SOS Recordings is based on a real-life unsolved case, and follows the trail of a historical mystery where two hikers were rescued alive on Hokkaido’s Mount Asahi beside a colossal “SOS” which they inexplicably did not make. As a detective, you’ll listen to recordings and explore the hazy landscapes of Japan by foot, road and sky in an attempt to uncover the elusive truth… though perhaps not before it consumes you. Players will explore low-poly recreations of mist-drenched pine forests, roaring black rivers, and serene meadows as they fade away along with the explanation behind the mysterious plea for help.

Developed by Filthy Eden, Cucina Stellata is a short psychological horror game where gastronomy, ritual, and cosmic appetite share the same table. Players will prepare authentic 19th-century Italian recipes through tactile cooking sequences. However, as you do so, you may find that the boundaries between nourishment, desire and madness begin to collapse. You cannot stop tasting. The sensation is beyond language. The more you consume, the deeper the hunger roots itself through marrow and vein. You are so ravenously hungry…

Continuing and expanding the story of the viral itch.io hit Funeralopolis, developer Bananadevjeff’s Grobnopolis | Last Days casts players as an apartment block caretaker in 1983 Huta-Grobno. You find fragile comfort in keeping things running smoothly while the city curdles into panic. When the locals begin to whisper of a thick “Soup” overtaking the streets and the local ecclesiastical order tightens its grip on your community, you must piece together what’s happening through newspapers, uneasy conversations, and a homemade radio. Though you may find in this slow, oppressive atmospheric horror experience that curiosity is both compass and curse.
