Through her work, Watts has been able to reframe her perspective on menopause and hopes to change the narrative for other women, too.
“We were given the messaging that we should fear it, that it was the end, and it is not,” she explained. “It is a change in your biology, which was always meant to happen—that is, if we’re living long enough. So, we should be grateful for this time.”
In addition to getting advice from doctors and friends, the Dare I Say It? author noted the benefits of communicating with partners about health, which she did with Schreiber despite worrying it would make her “unattractive” in his eyes.
“As soon as I confessed I’m in menopause, I was sure that he would want to move on,” she shared, “but he was like, ‘Oh, that’s so great that you’re honest about it, and you’re clearly taking care of yourself by getting the patch. And what can I do? How can I help?’”
Watts isn’t the only celeb to get candid about aging. Keep reading to see what other stars have shared about their journeys.
